Ditch Your Skinny Jeans for These 19 Gen-Z Approved Styles That Are All Under $50

You feel good, look great and be totally on-trend with these straight, wide-leg and more styles.

Of course, everyone is entitled to follow (or not to follow) any fashion trend out there. But according to Gen-Z, loose-fitted jeans are all the rage, while skinny jeans are officially out (RIP). However, there are so many Gen Z-approved, non-skinny jeans that are timeless, comfortable and look great. From baggy denim to retro ’50 style, there are tons of stylish options out there, for less than $50.

Take a look at a few of our favorite non-skinny jeans, below, and rest assured today’s youth will approve. They’re about to make unbelievably stylish assets to your wardrobe.

These Non-Skinny Jeans Will Keep Your Closet Looking Fresh

1. Dark-Wash: Just about anything looks good with dark-wash denim. You can wear these to work with a blazer or keep it casual with a tee shirt. These wide leg jeans flatter your waist, butt and legs, finishing just above the ankle. That way, you can pair them with just about any shoe or boot your heart desires.

2. Light-Wash: There’s nothing quite like classic light-wash denim. Dress them up or down, depending on the occasion—just sit back and relax, knowing the cut fits today’s trends (but they aren’t so baggy that they have you feeling miles out of your comfort zone).

3. Flower Power: Nothing says “peace and love” quite like a pair of flower-embroidered jeans. They’re high-rise, straight-leg and made from a stretchy fabric, which promises a little extra room whenever you might need it. Take note: you’ll want to machine wash these in cold water or else you may end up with a slightly shrunken pair of pants after laundry day.

4. Beachy: Kristin Cavallari, is that you? Whether you’re pulling on a pair of ripped mid-rise boyfriend jeans after a full day of surfing or are simply gearing up for a day of shopping, you’ll look just like our favorite Malibu reality TV princess. The loose, distressed vibe will forever scream “cool and laid back.” And the best part? They’re super stretchy, so you won’t have to feel like you’re stuffing yourself into your fave pair of pants, even if you’re just coming out of the ocean.

5. Ahoy Matey: Give off major sailor vibes in high-waisted baggy denim. Jazz it up with a striped button down and heels, to remind everyone you’re the captain—or just wear it with a tee and converse. The waist is slimming, and the bottoms flair out. Choose between four washes, and since they’re 100% cotton, we’d recommend air drying.

6. Boyfriend: There’s nothing sexier than the look of wearing your BF’s jeans, and that’s how boyfriend jeans came to be! These have a relaxed fit, and they’re long enough to roll the ankles… perfect for that totally classic jeans and tee combo.

7. Mom Jeans: Everyone jokes about mom jeans, but they’re popular for a reason! The fit is flattering on the booty, and they’re loose enough to not make you feel overly constricted. Lee’s mom jeans are beyond iconic, and they come in a variety of washes. (TBH for $20, we’re considering getting one of each!)

8. Stretchy: These aren’t just a regular pair of wide-leg jeans—they’re actually super stretchy, making them a comfortable option for anything from air travel to Thanksgiving dinner.

9. Vintage: Yes, a ‘90s baggy fit is in… but have you considered sporting some 1950s style denim? These retro flares would have totally scored you an invite to the sock hop back in the day, but for now they’ll just have to serve as ultra comfy, stylish pants.

10. Flare: Kendrick Lamar wore flare jeans, so now you have to get a pair of classic flare jeans. They’re comfortable, cool and come in several shades. They’re also relatively stretchy (but fitted) so you’ll look put-together, even if you’re wearing a hoodie and sneakers with them.

11. Ladies Who Lunch: Looking for something more from your denim? These pearl-encrusted jeans add a little unique pizazz to your outfits. Just make sure to hand-wash them, or else you might end up losing a few of your pearls.

12. Cape Cod Summer: You may not be able to wear white jeans after labor day, but we love a trusty pair of white flares. You can wear them anywhere and feel good in them all day, since they’re super stretchy.

13. Curvy: Even though many of us became well acquainted with skinnies in the last few decades, baggier pants are for everyone — including plus-sized folks. Flaunt your curves in some curvy straight-leg jeans. They come in plus, short and tall sizes, so you can find a pair that’s perfect for you.

14. Tall: Don’t hide your height — own it. These flares are super flattering and have options for 32-, 34- or 36-inch inseams. Choose between four classic washes, and pair them with literally anything.

15. Keep It Loose: If you can fathom transitioning to the exact opposite of skinny jeans, try out a pair of wide-legged baggy jeans. They’re ultra flattering and honestly, look great with just about any style of shirt (button-down, tank… you name it!). Just don’t forget a belt.

16. Check Check: Even though your skinny-jeans-emo era may be over, you can still show your love for the early aughts with these wide-legged checkered jeans. Even though they aren’t from Hot Topic, they’re updated with a high waist and hip-hugging fit. Pair them with a band tee or a belly shirt, as an ode to your high school self.

17. Farm Chic: Switch things up from your regular blue jeans with brown denim. These pants are both high-waisted and wide-legged, and since they’re brown, they go with just about anything.

18. Straight as a Pin: If you’re not ready to transition from skinnies to baggy jeans, might we suggest a straight leg pant? They’re flattering as ever, particularly around your legs and butt. And they only flare out slightly around the ankle, helping you move on slowly from your skinny jeans days.

19. Button Up: Anyone who prefers some buttons to zippers will love these wide leg jeans. In lieu of a zipper, close with four silver buttons, adding some flair to your denim. Plus, they’re less than $30, so your wallet will thank you.
