12. Price Matching
Walmart’s price matching policies differ between Walmart stores and online. For items purchased in-store, the company matches the price of the same item from its website. However, there are limitations.
First off, the customer must inform the person at the register at checkout. Next, the item must match its size and model (and must be in-stock). Some price matching transactions may also require a supervisor, and quantities are limited in New Mexico. Price match of items sold online aren’t available in Alaska, Hawaii or Puerto Rico.
Competitors, special event sales and third-party sellers aren’t matched. And the store manager has the final say on any price match. So this policy may vary.
Benefits:
- If you see a cheaper price online or in-store, you can get a discount
Requirements:
- Policies vary
- Customer must inform the associate at checkout
- Item must match make and model, and must be in-stock
- May require a supervisor
- Depends on what state you’re in
- Manager has the final say
Best For: Making sure you’re getting the same price in-store as online.
