As a Pet Parent, Here Are 7 Toys I Recommend for Dogs Who Are Aggressive Chewers

Frisbees, balls and bones are all viable options

As a dog parent of two, I’m no stranger to walking into a room full of stuffed animal carcasses and fluff. My pups are relatively aggressive chewers, which means they’re better off with durable dog toys. That’s why I’ve made a list of toys that stand up to their unruly chompers, including sturdy stuffies, hardy tug toys and more. And luckily, they’re all available on Amazon.

Fortunately, each option will last longer than just a few weeks. So, check out some dog toys that my pups love below!

Highly Durable Dog Toys for Aggressive Chewers

  • For Snuggles: My pups received two Kong Wild Knots Bears for Christmas, and they’ve been a huge hit. (Plus, they’re still in one piece!) Complete with internal knotted ropes, these Knot Bears are great for dogs who tend to tear actual stuffies to pieces. Because even if your fur babies love to play rough, these won’t tear for quite a while — $12
  • Eternal Chewing: Since we adopted our older dog in 2021, she’s held onto the same Benebone Dental Durable Dog Chew Toy. Ideal for straight chewing, the toy comes in flavors they love like bacon and peanut butter. They’re also more durable than actual bones, and they’re locally made in the U.S. All good things! — $12
  • Tug-of-War: Pet parents with aggressive chewers like myself know that ropes aren’t strong enough for tug-of-war. That said, natural rubber Zikaton Dog Squeaky Toys are durable and unbreakable. They even squeak for extra fun — $13
  • Fetch: Regular tennis balls won’t stand up to a pup who enjoys a good chew sesh. Instead, opt for Chuckit! Ultra Balls for rugged durability and all-day fun — $9
  • Lick It: For days when you can’t take your pup to the park, consider this pack of 2 Kong Classic Stuffable Dog Toys. You can stuff ’em with peanut butter and toss them in the freezer. Serving as an hour-long distraction, they also won’t fall apart if they get a little chewy in the process — $40
  • Flying Discs: I generally don’t toss a regular Frisbee with my adorable fur babies, because the thin plastic is no match for their chompers. That’s why options like the West Paw Zogoflex Zisc Durable Dog Frisbee exist. Made from indestructible rubber, it won’t tear. It also floats for waterfront fun — $16
  • Little Guys: Supply your smaller fur babies with this pack of three Nylabone Chew Toys. Despite their small size, they’re incredibly durable. And they come in a variety of flavors like bacon, chicken and peanut butter — $10
