Kayleigh Drake

Kayleigh Drake is a commerce editor at Bargain Hunter, and formerly the commerce editor for the Miami Herald and the Charlotte Observer. Based in Birmingham, Alabama, she has a bachelor’s degree in communications from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Kayleigh has written and edited content for numerous publications, including EatingWell, the Spruce Eats, Food & Wine, Simply Recipes, Real Simple, Byrdie and Verywell Fit, with a focus on the food and beverage, kitchen, home and lifestyle beats. 

Kayleigh has nearly eight years of editorial experience and has worked with both evergreen and news content across both commerce and performance marketing. She is passionate about service journalism and helping readers make informed purchasing decisions while saving money along the way. And, as an avid seeker of knowledge herself, she loves answering the “why” behind common questions that may arise while shopping.

In addition to her editorial expertise, Kayleigh also has experience working as a video editor and producer, as well as an online radio DJ. Prior to her media career, she worked as a full-time baker at a high-volume restaurant and bakery, where she spent years making nearly every kind of bread you could think of. (Focaccia, baguette, ciabatta, sourdough, brioche, pain de mie, whole wheat, rye, pita, naan — you name it, she’s probably made it!)

When she’s not fulfilling her editorial duties, she loves record shopping, baking, playing guitar, taking long walks at her local botanical gardens and buying entirely too many plants.
