Growing up, the Easy-Bake Oven was my favorite toy. And when I tell you that I was obsessed with this toy, I mean it. As a kid, I had several different versions of it—the 1993 one, the 2003 one and the 2004 one. In fact, I loved it so much that I was convinced that I’d become a famous pastry chef. While I’m now a writer, having this toy truly sparked my love for baking. It’s the reason why I’m always in the kitchen whipping up a new dessert.
Since I’m probably too old to grab a new oven for myself (just about 20 years shy, not much), I will be getting one for my six-year-old cousin, who also loves baking. And before you ask, yes, it does operate as a normal oven and cooks the batter and mix. Just turn it on, mix your treats, put it in the oven, let it bake and decorate it! Unlike the older models, this 2021 version is electric, whereas the older ones used a light bulb.
