Mornings during the school year can feel like a chaotic episode of a reality show, especially when you’re juggling kids, breakfast and the ever-missing phone charger. But QVC favorite Kim Gravel, mom of two, bestselling author and all-around powerhouse, has learned how to lean into the madness with grace (and good coffee). We asked Kim to share her go-to products and sanity-saving strategies for back-to-school mornings, and her answers are full of humor, heart and genuinely helpful recs.
From the food chopper that fuels her boys’ omelets to the iced coffee hack that keeps her grounded, here’s how Kim Gravel handles “beautiful chaos” like a pro and how you can too.
Kim Gravel’s Back-to-School Must-Haves
What’s your typical school morning like—any chaos or have you cracked the code?
What product helps you feel most in control during that morning rush?
Are there any specific beauty or self-care products you use to feel “put together” fast, even when you’re running behind?
I always throw on my tinted moisturizer and grab my favorite baseball cap.
When it comes to breakfast or lunch prep, is there a go-to kitchen gadget or shortcut that makes things easier?
I CANNOT live without my veggie chopper. My boys love omelets, so I chop everything in advance: onions, green peppers, everything.
Any must-have organizer, tote, or product that keeps everyone’s stuff in one place and out the door on time?
Yes, I love my medium-sized Hulken bag.
How do you personally stay calm when things do go off the rails? Is there a product or practice that helps you reset quickly?
Considering most days go off the rails, I try to have a quiet time or Jesus Calling devotional before the morning chaos begins. It helps manage the stress.
Do you have any go-to products for making you feel good after the morning chaos—something small but impactful?
Whenever I need a little feel-good something to get the morning started I always make an iced coffee—Nescafé instant coffee on ice with two Splendas.
Is there a product you think every mom needs in her morning routine arsenal, even if she doesn’t realize it yet?
A great tinted moisturizer and a killer Spotify playlist.
Is there anything else you’d like to add?
Give yourself grace. Mornings aren’t meant to be perfect—they’re meant to be real. If everyone gets out the door fed and semi-dressed, that’s a win in my book.
