As a sustainability- and health-conscious home cook, having safe, long-lasting and functional cookware is extremely important to me. And when I discovered the latest line of Cuisinart stainless steel cookware, FusionPlus, I was pleasantly surprised. You can get all things PFAS-free, from a six-piece set to a single griddle pan. And while they’re free of nasty toxins, they’re also incredibly hardwearing. That means you shouldn’t need to replace any of them for quite a while.
Now, I have the six-piece set, which is $200 and includes the 8-inch, 10-inch and 12-inch skillets with lids for each. However, you can also purchase them individually if you don’t need all three (or if you don’t want to spend that much). After a few weeks of using them consistently, I’ve found that everything heats up evenly thanks to the aluminum-encapsulated base. They’re also reportedly oven-safe up to 500°F, although I haven’t mustered up the courage try this after obliterating my last pan.
Additionally, the entire line is completely scratch-proof. So, if anyone accidentally uses the metal spatula over the rubber one, you won’t need to set off alarm bells. Best of all, the toxin-free, non-stick ceramic interior is super easy to clean. Although it’s dishwasher-safe, I haven’t found the need to load mine in. Everything comes off in seconds with warm water, a little soap and a sponge.
While many PFAS-free non-stick products tend to lose their magic after a while, these pans are said to be ultra durable. Although I haven’t had mine for very long, the brand says its “durability lasts a lifetime.” And based on how positive my experience has been thus far, I’m willing to believe it. Plus, if your pans aren’t working up to your standards, all Cuisinart stainless steel cookware comes with a lifetime warranty.
In addition to having useful, functional appliances, safe cookware is a must for any amateur chef. So, if you want to invest in a set of non-toxic pans, I recommend the Cuisinart FusionPlus line. Happy cooking!
