When my Fitbit broke a month ago after almost three years of hard daily use, it was like being half naked. It was so easy to use, and the app integrates so well into my phone, that I even got special glue to reattach the screen to try to use it again. I actually got two more weeks out of it before it died for good, and now I’m really regretting my choice to replace it with a Samsung Galaxy watch that needs to be charged every day, instead of another Fitbit.
So when a deal for the Fitbit Charge 6 at $110 (31% off) for Prime Day, crossed my desk, I knew what my one guaranteed purchase was going to be. The Fitbit Charge 6 is the top of the slim charge line, before you get into the larger and more expensive Sense and Versa.
Smaller doesn’t mean fewer features, though, as even in the smaller size of the Charge 6 you get all the features you want out of an affordable fitness-focused watch. My favorite is that it has up to a seven-day battery life, which is incredible in a smart fitness watch with just over a one-inch face.
And as a dedicated fitness walker (and halfhearted runner), the Fitbit Charge 6 is also perfectly designed for workouts with on-screen media controls for your phone, GPS, over 40 exercise modes (including swimming—it’s waterproof down to 50 meters), body monitoring with sleep and heartrate, and even Google Wallet for contact-free payments without ever getting anything out of your pockets. And paying for it while it’s on sale for Prime Day isn’t going to hurt your pockets much, either.
